Everybody talks about how wonderful it is to do a "joint venture." And when it's done right it can be very profitable indeed.

But what is a joint venture? And how can you get one going?

A joint venture is an agreement between two parties where both agree to do certain things and share profits. Simple really.

They combine forces in hopes of creating more results than either of them would working alone.

They both do different work and share revenue based on that work.

Let's me share some truths about joint ventures. These are things that others don't often talk about, even though they are true. I feel you deserve the truth. After all, your time is valuable and wasting it is not an option.

In this article I'm going to cover three simple techniques you can use this month and produce tons of free traffic in 30 days or less.

But before I do that, let me get real honest with you...

Article marketing takes a lot of work. All before you even know if you are going to get a result. You might plow through 2 weeks of effort before you even start to breakthrough and find out what doesn't work.

Always put your articles on your own website. This should be more apparent now more than ever. With the new updates Google has come out with, they straight up telling us that they are looking for content that is unique.

Plus, putting content on your website gives you the ability to start showing up on Google and getting residual traffic for years to come.

To this day, I have websites that get thousands of hits that I started years ago. All because I put my articles on my own websites.

2. Length Is Key - Have you ever spent some time reading the top blogs on the internet?

What you will find that they all have in common, is the length of their posts. A majority of them are 1000 words or more.

In my personal experience to get a significant amount of visitors from Google you have to make your article at least 600 words or more, period!

A few years ago writing 350 word articles was OK, and most of them showed up in search results. But today short articles just don't have enough juice to bring in visitors.

Now, by adding this length to your articles it should never compromise the quality.

You should always look to add value to the reader, if you can't do that you shouldn't be writing.

What I like to do if I get stuck at a certain length, is go more in-depth on my main points.

So if I have a total of 3 main points in my article, i will add 2 more sentences to each. Giving the reader more depth on each topic and adding 250 or more words to my article.

3. Syndication Sucks - Contrary to popular belief by the guru's, syndicating your content to multiple article directories does nothing but hurt you. Yes, 3 years ago this worked like gangbusters for bringing in tons of traffic.

Today Google will slap you like a red-headed step child.

Also follow my golden rule of putting your articles on your own websites. Stop trying to cheat and use 1 piece of content everywhere.

If you are going to syndicate anything, syndicate the link to your blog/website. This will build backlinks to your article and give it some juice in the natural search results.

You can also send out your link to all the social websites, which will bring in some visitors quickly.

Do you understand the principle of the "joint venture" (JV)? If not, then you need to get well acquainted with it. It's something that can dramatically boost your sales for free, and you could build a lifelong relationship with your joint venture partner who could be supplying you with endless sales daily.

Now when doing joint ventures, you will want to strive to convince someone to become a partner with you. Generally this involves sending your potential partner your product and/or your sales letter page... or your email list. Find someone who has something to offer for your product or niche, and then write up a JV proposal for your partner.

In your JV proposal letter, you will want to tell your potential partner that they will receive a large commission rate for every sale made. If you're offering your affiliates 50% on each sale, consider offering your JV partner 65% of each sale. They will probably research you quite a bit before they say "yes" to your offer, so make sure that you point this out to them.

I also mentioned that you may have to send them a copy of your product for them to review. After this point, the ball is in their court. They will either accept or decline your offer, and if they decline... simply move on and try to find other potential partners in your niche who would be willing to do a JV with you.

Also, you will want to join various affiliate networks online who specifically specializes in forming joint ventures. Some are free, and some you have to pay a fee for. And depending on your niche, paying the fee may be a good idea - because the niche may have a lot of partners who are looking for new people to do deals with.

I enjoy joint venture marketing if the terms are right and if it's worth my time - because generally I receive good offers, and then sometimes I receive offers that aren't so stellar. Nevertheless, you should be able to sort through the clutter and choose partners that will be likely winners for you.

Joint venture marketing is something that can explode your sales in a short period of time. I know of a guy who made $20,000 online within a matter of weeks from a joint venture that he did with another well-known online business owner. Your results will vary obviously, but with the right price and a great offer... you stand the chance of earning big time with a JV.

Sometimes people will approach you for a proposition, or you will have to be the catalyst. Nevertheless, it can still become profitable for you.

Website analytics refers to collecting, measuring and analyzing data from your company's website and is often used to help improve the site. However, the data collected can also help drive and improve your sales as well. On a basic level, web analytics is a tool for measuring traffic to your site. But, it can be a much more powerful tool when used for improving your website, market research, generating business, and sales. In order to use your webpages metrics to help improve sales, you need to know your website's key performance indicators.

The first metric to understand is how many visitors your website receives within a given timeframe (day, week, month, etc) and then to break that down further to unique visitors, first time/one time only and repeat visitors. Many businesses may only focus on the number of visitors or the conversion rate of their site, without paying attention to the information to be unearthed by analyzing page views, bounces and unique vs. repeat visitors. For instance, when analyzing the behavior of repeat visitors, page views can begin to shed light on your viewer's behaviors. Page views show if certain pages are repeatedly visited, perhaps the viewer is mulling a decision or which pages are the last ones visited before leaving a site, the viewer has all her info or gets confused and leaves the site.

Page views may be analyzed by focusing on a single visitor's activity (tracked by I.P. address), by total viewers or a subset of your visitors for a month. By digging into the data, you can begin to not only understand and predict a visitor's behavior on your site, but also to make changes to the site to help increase visitors, page views and conversion. Of course, you will need to track your changes to see if your metrics show improvement.

By understanding how your social media presence ties with your print/broadcasting campaigns, you gain an even larger understanding of what drives visitors to your site and your opportunity to increase your conversion rate.
